Naked Scene distresses “Weeds” star Botwin

Had you been following the recently aired episodes of Weeds, you would have been aware that the main protagonist Botwin cannot be considered the saintly mother on TV. A couple of times she bared on the screen too. We had a good look at her back when she did a volte-face in the 3rd season a short time ago.

As we draw near the rerun of the crucial series of Showtime, Louise Parker is all heated up about an exposed scene which she was compelled to do, but considered superfluous.

June issue of ‘More’ reported Parker’s comments that she never assumed that she is required to expose herself. She revealed that she had a clash on the subject with the director and repent that she did it. She now fears the wide publicity online and imagines the headline about baring her large nipples. She is now contrite that she did the scene.

But, Weed’s executive producer Roberto Benabib feels that the naked scene was needed to complete the wholeness of Nancy’s character. The nude scene occurred on the last episode of the 4th season. He viewed the nude scene as essential as by that time the character has lost all her resistance and there was an indifference to the nakedness as a matter of complete surrender. He considered the nude scene among the excellent takes of Marie Louise on Weeds.

Nevertheless, the disapproval appears to be trivial and Parker views her character of a drug pusher mom as satisfying. She was previously noticed in the 4th season having an affair with an influential Mexican lawmaker.

She felt that over excessive characterisations is ok. But, she is not in favour of depicting inane and ridiculous characterisations for creating comedy. She is not fond of being emotional either, when she acts as an ideal mother as the character is not like this.
