Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk)
Andy is Nancy’s brother in law. He used to live in Alaska with his girlfriend, but moves into the Botwin household after the sudden demise of his brother. He lives with them with the notion of helping out with his brother’s widow, but the truth is, he is just avoiding military service. Meanwhile, he helps with Nancy’s business. Fun loving and sometimes irresponsible, he serves as a father figure for Nancy’s children.

He eventually takes care of Nancy’s children when she became busy with business abroad. In the light of this situation, he became more responsible. It was also revealed that she has feelings for Nancy, but she doesn’t reciprocate these romantic feelings. Though this was the case, Andy still helps out Nancy especially when she got pregnant with Esteban. Andy eventually gets engaged to Dr. Audra Kitson.
Justin Kirk plays the role of Andy. Justin was born in Salem, Oregon. He was nominated for an Emmy Award in his performance as Prior Walter in Angels in America. He also won Back Stage West Garland Award for Outstanding Performance on his role in Old Wicked Songs. He also appeared in the films Chapter Zero, Flannel Pajamas, and Jack & Jill.
